Pokemon SoulSilver Part 14: Rage in the wind at the triump for my magic steel

Last time:



I was too busy to play this game and make an update last weekend, but that ended up working out anyway. The narrow victory over Jasmine told me I needed to do some more leveling. Alas, if I don't have time to play this game to advance the plot, then I certainly don't have time to play it just to grind. That's all right, though. A second week of Pokewalking fixes everything! I'm going to miss the Pokewalker so much when I play Ultra Moon.

Pokemon Ultra Moon Part 1: Starlight, magical night, moonlight shining bright

No, of course I'm not playblogging two full-length Pokemon games at the same time. Don't be silly.

However, while I was still playing my way through SoulSilver, oops, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon released. And because they're the hot new game that just launched, Nintendo is going to be celebrating and supporting them with a ton of Mystery Gift giveaways for probably the next long while. And for Mystery Gift to work, you need a save file.

This isn't like last time where I had to get to the first Pokemon Center (so I could trade with myself later.) All I have to do is get far enough for the game to start, so I can save, quit, and get back to SoulSilver. Once that file is there, then I can just collect all the Mystery Gifts as they come over the next... probably year or so, and whenever I do get around to this game, I'll have them all and they'll be waiting for me.

However, while I'm not committing to playing this game in a timely manner, I am leaning strongly toward playblogging it whenever I do. The SoulSilver run has been going very well so far, it's a lot of work but also a lot of fun, and the unexpected explosion of comments is really keeping me motivated. If this keeps up, then yeah sure why not. Which means that, uh, I guess I should probably chronicle this? I can always change my mind about blogging Ultra Moon later. What I can't do is pick this game up again two or three years from now, decide, "Hey, I should really blog this," and then try to reconstruct my thoughts about the opening and prologue from ancient memories because I didn't write anything down when it was fresh.

Besides, taking an entire entry just to get past the title screen is what I do. It's the Celine Pokemon Playblog Experience.
