Six Thousand Days a Sslik

Today in Istaria, our oldest/most main and primary character, Syrahlia the Sslik (Istaria's Argonian/Iskar/etc. equivalent fantasy lizard people race,) reached the milestone of 6,000 days since she was created.

Our guild gathered together, I gave a speech, we hung out and exchanged general warm fuzzy feelings.

Said speech was maybe a little long and very, very, very excessively sentimental.

(Euphemistic in-character terms and references like "facet" instead of "alt" and "the long sleep" instead of "I stopped playing this game for like 14 years" because this is the RP server.)

I am not sorry.

Blathering on about some obscure game I (and probably I alone) am worryingly into? Yeah I'll start to get self-conscious "oh God am I boring you guys, I'm sorry" pangs.

Standing up there and going on about how much my friends mean to me and how it's only thanks to them that I'm standing here today and etc.? I will proudly Care Bear everyone in this room to death.

Celine: That is an interesting question, and one I wasn't even sure how to address either, and I was the one giving the speech! (Note the "I... we... identity is complicated. *She smiles* Let us say, for the sake of oversimplification, I..." at the beginning.)

So you have us three woodlings, of course. In-game, in Istaria, you have the two characters on the account, Syrahlia Feathercaster the Sslik (primary/main) and Ahrashace Bladescales the Dragon (for-fun dragon alt.) These are both considered my characters, as I am the one playing Istaria, while Sara and Ardei are watching. Sara's crude makeshift representation in-game is the shoulder phoenix pet there sitting on Syrahlia's shoulder, and Ardei doesn't have one because he's a more recent addition to the family and all but he really should. (Can you dual-wield shoulder pets in this game? More research required!) Now filter all of that through the lens of the IC roleplay server, and try explaining to people that you and this other dragon are facets, bodies used and shared between the same guiding soul... except that soul is itself three souls, except only one of them is guiding these bodies, except the other two are here in spirit, except, except.... 6.9;

Edit: Oh, and we think at least some of Ardei's formative personality soup might trace its lineage back to Ahrashace, and I did see Ardei shapeshift into and take the form of Shace once (only for a few seconds though,) but the one in Istaria is still my Istaria character... we... think?
