Undertale full version live reactions: day 7

Not day 7 chronologically because that was technically yesterday but I didn't get to play yesterday OH WELL I'M OFFICIALLY GIVING UP ON NUMBERING THESE PROPERLY. Also I'm flying out tomorrow for Rainfurrest so updates may be a little sporadic! I'm going to try to make more progress in my hotel room or something because being around an entire convention full of furries will spoil everything if I haven't beaten it already, but I may not get around to posting the reactions in a timely manner. Maybe. We'll see!

Anyway today I fall head over heels in love with a dorky lizard.

• A few different people have (accidentally?) spoiled for me that I really really need to go back to Undyne's house right now, so I guess that's what I'm doing.
  
• They also mentioned that you can win Thundersnail. Which is a facepalm-inducing name now that I get it. (The name wasn't spoiled for me, though! Just everything else.)
  
• The price for winning Thundersnail is 9G. I... I'm not sure what I was expecting, honestly. Sure.
  
• Zero Suit Undyne is not making my confusing feelings any less confusing, here. Just saying.

• YOU'RE GIVING ME AS MANY ;_;S AS TORIEL, GAME. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY ;_;S THAT EVEN IS? Wait, of course you do.
  
• This went from brain-crushingly zany to heart-crushingly serious and sentimental, back to brain-crushing, back to heart-crushing, all with phenomenal music throughout. Have I mentioned I originally knew of Toby as one of the composers from Homestuck?
  
• Undyne says Asgore probably doesn't want to fight me any more than I want to fight him. On a scale from ten to ten, the final battle is going to end in a lot of tears, isn't it. (DON'T ANSWER THAT)
  
• Papyrus' number has been upgraded to what I assume is the Papyrus and Undyne Comedy Hour number. I'm really tempted to go back and check their reaction to literally every single room in the game again, but... nah, I'll just stick to some errands I wanted to run (back to Snowedin to buy more healing items) and check everything along the way there and call it good.
  
• Back to Hotland and forward progress!

• I actually guessed the first three questions correctly because they really were easy questions, then I noticed Dr. Alphys was giving me the answers JUST IN TIME.
  
• Except Alphys is telling me the answer on the memory one is D even though I'm pretty sure that's a Froggit? What happens if I disagree with her?

• This game speaks to me on so many levels.
  
• Did this game just imply that Dr. Alphys may have a crush on me-the-player? Because that is completely mutual I assure you.

• GOD DAMN IT TOBY.
  
• Orange attacks are the opposite of blue in that you need to be moving to not be hit! It really would have nice if Alphys explained that before the pyrope, but hey.
  
• Hotland has really great music too. I mean this whole game does, but those two are standout tracks even by this game's standards.
  
• OH RIGHT I'm supposed to be getting Papyrus and Undyne's thoughts on everything.
  
• "You're popular with me, too!" That conversation spun around from "AWWW" to "pfff XD" and as a writer, I am just seriously impressed with how well crafted the dialogue for that exchange was. That was nice.
  
• Pretty much everything about the cooking show
  
• MTT-Brand Always-Convenient Human-Soul-Flavor-Substitute. This would be the pinnacle of any other game. It's honestly saying something that Undertale just kind of lives at that level.
  
• Aaaand I really should get packing for RF so uh, more next time? I love this game.

I love Doctor Alphys so much, she's so adorable and nervous and a curvy lizardess and I really want to see/commission... fanart of her, but I don't want to taint her as a character either. What will win, furriness or conscience?

I also didn't get the Thundersnail thing either until right at this moment.

Mettaton's battle theme is my favourite in the game, and he's also one of my top characters - everything with him is gold. I was falling about laughing at everything in Cooking With a Killer Robot, and the increasingly demented questions in the quiz when you first meet him - I actually had no idea that Dr Alphys gave you the answers! The Froggit one was such a nasty trick, very in character for him :) I honestly can't remember the order in which the scenes with him progress, but as you haven't mentioned another certain scene yet, I'll have to err on the side of caution...

I'm glad you went back to Undyne's house even if it was spoiled for you (what was the message that you got on Tumblr?) - I can't remember how I found myself there, but it's an amazing scene as well and I'm so happy I didn't miss out on it my first time through. Like Hatoful before it, the game goes through so many different modes... it's quirky but sort of sombre in the ruins, gets especially charming and funny leading up to Snowdin, sort of a menacing kind of calm in Waterfall, pulls out all the hilarity in Hotland... and still has some distance to go :)

I hope you get to continue this on the journey to Rainfurrest and everything, get to experience it before you get told too much. Maybe I'll even get to see you do the final stages live on Wednesday night/Thursday? :)

There are many ways to get something alluring yet still respectful of her character! Hell, that pose and expression she's putting on next to Mettaton is just about perfect as-is, all it needs is slightly less clothing. (Well, for you, I think I might actually be set even with that. ;))

I'm a little surprised you didn't notice she was giving you the answers... as I said, the first three questions you can know or at least guess anyway, but I'm not sure how else you could ever get beyond the blatantly impossible ones!

Use a lot of healing items between rounds, I guess? D:

Anyway, yes, I've transferred the game and save and everything to my laptop and verified it all works, so I'll definitely be doing more of this there :) Can't wait to see you! I need to be up again to catch my plane in about six hours but I can't sleep before I'm done packing and I'm too scattered from nervousness to pack D: I have discovered that present I was supposed bring with me just will not fit no matter what I do... I may have to try to find a way to mail it to you or something. :( But... whatever, it will all be worth it in about sixteen hours..!

Haha, that's OK - we'll work it out :)

I... think Mettaton takes off half your health for a wrong answer each time and can never drop it below 1, but I might be remembering wrongly. I remember I correctly guessed the "flies in the jar" one and thought that it accepted any answer - but got it wrong on my second playthrough.

What's the Pyrope/Homestuck thing, I meant to ask?

I don't want to spoil anything in case I ever talk you into it (it has a very similar silly/heartwrenching mood whiplash feel, even if it's less furry and is basically a lifetime commitment,) but Terezi Pyrope is a very major character.

I just went back to look at this again after what you said, and I hadn't noticed that Dr Alphys was signing the answers even when you posted the screenshot! I thought you were just illustrating an example of an impossible question - when you said she told you the answer, I was expecting a speech balloon to appear with a few seconds left, or something.
