Oblivion: Curse of Teo Has Gone Too Far
Sep. 19th, 2015 01:30 pmI don't deserve mods. I have used their powers for evil.

[NSFW] A CoH mesh replacer to add dangly parts [NSFW] (the actual textures they use come separately, though)
A certain other mod I had to download (but not actually install) just to grab the textures that that mesh replacer uses
A little fine tuning of my own in NifSkope to fiddle with the size, position, angle, etc.
And for what? So I could run around Cyrodiil as a perpetually aroused wolf furry?
The saddest part is that, well, I'm not going to get into the full essay-length explanation here but trust me that it's actually more lore-friendly and in-character to do it this way. Being a werewolf without a constant prominent erection would have been immersion-breaking. This makes more sense. Really. I know how it looks (and I won't deny having ulterior motives, even,) but it actually does.
This is it. This is what my life has come to. I am so sorry for everything.

Date: 2015-09-21 02:55 pm (UTC)A lot of it comes from just how difficult it is for my character to even fall under this sort of curse. In Oblivion, you can contract various diseases that come with minor stat debuffs and such and persist until specifically cured (Cure Disease spell/potion, or the healing at an altar at any church will do it.) Most are pesky nuisances at worst, but one particular one (porphyric hemophilia) will turn you into a vampire if you contract it and then let it fester untreated for three in-game days. It's permanent once it fully infects you, but until then porphyric hemophilia is as much of an "oh, Cure Disease, there, gone" thing as everything else. This werewolf mod adds another disease that's basically the werewolf equivalent and works in much the same way.
Syrius is an Argonian. Every race gets their own perks and abilities and such, and the two things those lizards are really known for in this game is the ability to breathe underwater and built-in 75% resistance to disease. And I crafted myself some enchanted gauntlets that add in the other 25%, meaning I'm fully immune to disease if I wear them. Before I had those (and even after, just in case,) I have a Cure Disease spell I just happen to know, and something like five or six Cure Disease potions on my person at all time just in case I ever contract a disease that prevents me from casting spells (Silence, impaired magic regeneration, etc.) to cure it.
Suffice it to say, it is somewhat unlikely in-character for Syrius to become a werewolf by accidental contact. For him to get infected, he'd have to specifically 1) not be wearing the gloves, 2) sit there and block and just let the enemy werewolf chew on him until he's exposed so much that the RNG overcomes the other 75% of his built-in disease resistance, and 3) let a disease just sit there for three days, even though he's normally so overprepared for diseases that even with more-or-less immunity to them he has a spell and potions just in case he can't cast the spell.
There is no way, no way Syrius could become a werewolf unless he's doing it on purpose. Which brings us to part two of this: why is he becoming a werewolf on purpose?
I play Syrius very similar to how I play myself on Tapestries and the like, which is to say noble and good but lusty. He could never be a paladin because he makes too many decisions with the wrong head, but other than that he has all the defending the innocent, rescuing kittens, etc. stuff down. Werewolves, by contrast, are savage uncontrollable monsters that hunt and devour the innocent and, you know, classic werewolfy stuff. Syrius would want none of this.
Unless....
The only way any of this makes sense is if he's done a lot of research (which he would do if he's willingly infecting himself) and discovered a way to swap the bloodlust for... well, another kind of lust. Feral werewolf instincts are impossible to control--people with far more willpower than he (because God knows willpower is not the strong suit of any character I ever play) have tried and failed. But maybe it can be redirected. The combination of his staunch refusal to prey on the innocent or otherwise be evil, paired with a total willingness to succumb to other urges , might just give him a unique workaround to the problem that has bested everyone who ever tried to face it directly.
In conclusion: accidental infection is impossible and he would never willingly submit to anything that would have him painting the countryside red, thus making a G-rated werewolf mod unfitting. Painting it white, on the other hand....
