Out of the ruins, into new content!
- I'm not far enough to understand HOW it's important yet, but you better believe I haven't missed the fact that the iconic representations of humans and monsters in the pre-title screen intro thing look like Toriel and the child.
- Man, after how many times I've been through the demo, you'd think I'd be used to that hug by now, but apparently it still gets me every single time. ;_;
- Flowey's pacifist run speech makes a lot more sense when you've played the demo and seen all the other speeches. Not sure how much it really accomplishes all on its own out of context like that. Fortunately I don't have that problem!
- Yaaay the new part I am so excited!
- Okay this suddenly got genuinely terrifying.
- WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT
- Oh it's sans.
- This is no longer terrifying.
- At the risk of making a Toriel-tier joke, the new enemies seem pretty cool!
- PUPPY!!! Oh my gosh the reaction when you pet it is the cutest thing ever. New favorite enemy? New favorite enemy.
- Snowman, you want me to take a piece of you to the ends of the Earth? Do you have any idea who you're talking to? I am the master, the absolute undefeated master of getting items and then never using them for the entire rest of the game. I'll save you a spot in the final dungeon next to the butterscotch cinnamon pie.
- Papyrus's dastardly spaghetti trap apparently actually worked since that's where I'm going to stop for the night. Next time!

Date: 2015-09-17 01:05 pm (UTC)In the time since I'd played the demo, I had forgotten how heartwarming Toriel's introduction was - her finding you and guiding you through the puzzles, and then wanting to keep you safe in her home. She was so iconic of the game during the demo that I feel really strange that the entire game is no longer about her, and that the underside of the mountain is so much more expansive than what we've seen so far.
I was going through peacefully (as had been beaten into me cruelly during the demo!) and had actually forgotten how scary the game was at its peak, until it hit me with the section that you're describing. Then Sans appeared and everything from then on has been the equal of Hatoful's ability to simulate your brain being stirred like a boiled egg with a spoon.
There is so much in this game that I feel I'm missing, even though I'm trying to be thorough :) Where IS the furthest place that you can bring that snowman piece? I haven't found out yet...
