Ruined Tail's Tale again

I was supposed to reinstall this mod just to have the mementos and quest log updates and stuff from having completed it (because it still needs the data for those to exist) but apparently that was part of the progress I lost in only having backed up most of my save data.



Oh God there he is. Ruined-Tail more like Broken-Heart AM I REALLY READY TO DO THIS AGAIN

I am not sure I GET this guy. He stops me to ask if I'm an optimist or pessimist and my outlook on life then muses that perhaps he'll end up molded by my take on the world, because I CHANGE THE FACE OF HISTORY by being a GRAND HERO.

And I'm like.

"Ruin. My dear onion. What I am doing here, now that I have kidnapped you to a foreign country and made you wear dumb goggles not meant for your species, is leaping off a roof to break my legs repeatedly so I can heal them. I am level three. My ankles hate me. Are you sure, onion lizard, are you REALLY SURE that this is the sempai you would like to notice you?"

I will acknowledge that his script may not have every single possible player state and level and story position and alignment and etc. taken into consideration, especially when other mods are involved. He once concluded a conversation with me with "Let us go, the sun overhead is too beautiful to waste" while we were trapped in a cave which I'm pretty sure at this point has to be larger than the outside overworld of Cyrodiil. We could probably live and die and found an entire civilization down here, like some sort of race of Argonian dwarves. I'm sure Lizard Satan back at the Archaeologists' Guild wouldn't mind.

ANYWAY.

I want to say it helps that I might be taking his tale slightly more seriously than you appear to be, but, I mean, the first thing I did was take away his boots. And you saw what I did to him in the church, but in my defense that one was totally non-canonical and I just loaded a file to get a quick screenshot and I didn't save, so it didn't happen. (The boots thing did, though.)

That being said, I do still insist it is a very good tale once you get into it, and I also appreciate that it hits me with some moral decisions I actually have to think about. It's quite refreshing after growing too used to Bioware's trend of "Help this old lady across the street and politely insist that no reward is necessary OR stab her fifty times, reanimate her corpse, walk her reanimated corpse over to her husband and traumatize him until he commits suicide, steal the wallet off his corpse, use that to establish his home address, find his home, and set it on fire."
