All right, fine, go ahead and self-destruct on me, see if I care. That still logs you in the codex, and I didn't want your stupid Metal Slime-like vast amounts of experience anyway.

I have yet to defeat one successfully, either. It must be possible, and compared to things they're asking of players like doing the second boss in one turn, it must seem positively simple.

I've come close on the second- and third-stratum ones; it's mostly just luck, but luck has yet to be kind enough to me to let me get one of them. I did successfully kill a first-stratum one once. They're the "easiest" since they have less health and they don't self-destruct, but the latter means they're the only one so I've seen so far that you actually have to kill if you want it in your codex. (Solution: you can win in about two rounds anyway, get a preemptive attack and bind its legs in the first round so it won't run and there you go.)

They're... escalating, though. The first-stratum ones merely ran. The second-stratum ones exploded. The third-stratum ones, now that I've encountered two, appear to be able to run and explode. God only knows what the later ones can do.... I suppose the good news is my codex is at least still complete up to this point, even if I only actually earned the victory against one of the three so far.
