Man, this EO3 party-building is hard.

Boo!

Aaah! What the hell!?

Hi, sorry about that. Sometimes, when Kjorteo has a crazy enough idea that the sheer craziness of it would prompt him to actually argue with himself about it, he feels the urge to act it out with his Pokemon icons.

Oh, okay.

Anyway, I had an idea about this EO3 team!

Oh?

The problem, as I understand it, is this: The Monarch March line is extremely awesome and useful and you want it, but neither of your sub-Princes, Julian nor Rachael, can comfortably afford it, right?

Right.

Meanwhile, Samuel is practically not even using his subclass at all--just taking Wildling for Alertness and nothing more, right?

Whoa, whoa,
whoa. Slow down, there. You're not suggesting--

Indeed I am! Turn Samuel into a Hoplite/Prince and give him the Monarch March line!

Do you have any idea how crazy that is?

I don't know, do I?

Then I'd have three sub-Princes! Three!

Yeah, because God knows Samuel was giving the his Wildling status all the proper care and respect and attention it truly deserved before.

You're giving the passive autoheal line--which includes Royal Veil, the "everyone else heals if the Prince's HP is full" one--to the main tank! The guy whose job it is to specifically direct enemy attacks toward him!

Well, actually, he'd be getting rid of Provoke and the Parries to make room for it.

You're joking. You have to be.

He's still protecting people! Bodyguard! Lv. 10 Line Guard! And enough HP Up that he's passively more of a target anyway!

Rendering Royal Veil useless.

Yeah, well, treat it as a useless prerequisite and only give it five points instead of maxing it, then. That saves you five points, and Monarch March alone is still worth having, right?

I... I guess, but....

And here's the good news: Julian would get 25 more points to spend by not having to take the Monarch March line himself. That alone is more than enough for Bind Cut! Plus, it turns out that Blade Rave is one of those moves that's actually a better deal for you at level 1 than level 10, like Front Mortar, so there's nine more points of savings. Julian can have afford to have all of his old toys back! Everything that's worth having on a Prince that wouldn't be redundant because Rachael or Samuel already have, Julian can have!

E... Everything?

Everything!

Knighthood?

Max-level Knighthood, just like Prevent Order, so you don't even have to worry about not having the Keburi no Sue savings on those anymore!

Guard Order?

Maxed!
Reinforce?
Only at level 4 because even this build had to run out of skill points at
some point, but... yes!

You've got it!

I don't know....

What's not to know?

What
is to know? Everything about this plan is crazy. It's crazy that while my main classes are adequately diverse--Gladiator/Hoplite/Arbalist/Monk/Ninja--my subclasses are
two Farmers and three Princes. And it's crazy that I'm giving the Monarch March line--including Royal Veil--to a
Hoplite.
...

But the craziest part of all is that... well... it's the best idea I've heard so far. It's crazy that it's so not-crazy. It's... crazy enough that it just... might... work...?

Mua ha ha.

Date: 2010-12-13 01:26 am (UTC)Still some sacrifices that had to be made there, but at least Royal Veil is on someone who actually makes sense now (though it's not maxed anymore anyway) and most of the critical stuff is still there, I guess. I don't know, this is hard. D:
