Jan. 8th, 2010 05:22 pmI love it when Professor Layton puzzles make me break out my algebra, I solve for the missing value after using the memo sheet as about two pages of scratch paper, and successfully submit my answer, only for the game to give me the "that's right! If you imagine one side like this..." speech where it reveals a painfully simpler way of thinking about it which I completely overlooked. It makes me feel smart and stupid at the same time!
That's okay, game. My way might have been way too much work for 10 Picarats, but suddenly remembering that I know how to combine equations was its own reward.
