You know, it doesn't have to be "here's the exact mythical kami this Pokemon is based on" for there to be some juicy lore to get into anyway.
So the Latis are just something they made up because someone at GameFreak has an aeromorph kink. Okay? I still want to know what their deal is.
I once did a web search for "what is the actual relationship between Latios and Latias anyway" and found a comment somewhere to the effect that they're just a species and that's like asking the relationship between Nidoran(M) and Nidoran(F); depends on which ones, and if they know each other and stuff? However, I personally find it doubtful that they could be that plentiful if they're, you know, Legendaries. We also found a comment somewhere to the effect that they're mates but that was changed to brother and sister to make it less horny, because as we all know, the Internet would never ship a brother/sister pair and yeah they just accidentally recreated the "cousins" stuff from Sailor Moon didn't they. (Uh, assuming that part is true, anyway.) Then again, they'd have to be swingers in that case, judging by what we've heard about Ash and Latias.
Why does Steven Stone have an Eusine-for-Suicune-sized boner for the Latis that apparently spans several games at this point? And what are the Latis even doing here (what are they the gods of if anything, what unleashed them, why is Latios just kind of flying around Kanto now after Steven Stone was like "hey by the way have you heard of Latios, he is a Pokemon, that exists, anyway bye" okay but why.)
Also, to be fair, a surprising number of things are slower than Purugly; Purugly is just way faster than it looks.
