This purely came from me paying closer attention to their actual song lyrics--the focus on unrequited crushes and bitter breakups, the overwhelming sex-negativity, the entire Caleb saga--and having this horrible realization of, "Oh no, this is incel music, isn't it? :c"

Look. I don't think Sonata Arctica even knows what involuntary celibacy is. Tony Kakko strikes me as more of a Morrisey-esque "could very well be taken as ace, that's how dissatisfied he is with the core concept of sexuality", meaning he's just singing ballads about heartbreak.
That said, if you're asking if people have appropriated it to those ends, I absolutely have seen at least one playlist on Youtube labeled "Sonata Arctica Incel Moods".
