When last we left off: Good heavens this place is gorgeous. There isn't even anything in it yet and it's already an even more lovely setting for photos than the rest of the island.

You're... not making them sound any less appealing, like at all.

OH RIGHT DEDICATION CEREMONIES ARE A THING, I completely forgot. Yes, let us join together in celebration that the museum has been open for like a few days now? Sorry I didn't see the option there aaa.

These are worth doing, though, because I do really like the sentimentality here. <3

You don't have to humor me, guys. I know I hecked up the opening day. :c

Eh, a party's a party, I guess. Sterling's face looks adorable from the front.

Her other resident is pretty chill, though.

Her other other resident has PAINTED TALONS oh my God that is the cutest touch.

The entire Animal Crossing series has been an excuse to dad joke off every bug and fish species they can think of and New Horizons is no exception.

Context-Free Theater proudly presents

And Tharotia has its first new recruit! There's a sort of crafting quest where Tom Nook wants the player to attract three new residents. Since getting a chance to screen them first is better than a potentially unwanted random roll, we've been doing a lot of island tours to go out there and meet people. Nan wasn't on my radar going into this, but she's cute and seems nice and... yeah, you know, sure, I like this one.

BEAU!! Beau actually was on my shortlist, one of about three or so "Lazy"-coded personality-type villagers whose Amiibo card I purchased because I knew I wanted one of them and couldn't decide which one. That makes that decision a lot easier. We just hit the jackpot here.

So if Bam is more just plain dippy now, the trophy for horniest character in New Horizons now goes to... Blathers?? ... You know what sure, I'm okay with this.

The game surprised me, here. At this point, we had two of the three new arrivals selected, and between island tours to search for the third, I went ahead and finished up one of the plots. (Plot #2, specifically.) I figured that if they were going by chronological order of invitation, the first plot I finished should logically go to Nan, and if they were going by plot number, then it would be Beau's. Either way, I could still let one of them in while looking for our third new recruit, right? ... Then, just as soon as I'd built it, there was a SOLD sign out front that proudly announced this area was reserved for... Sprinkle's new residence. Sprinkle? I, uh... hmm. I guess it must have done a random roll for whether the plot went to Nan, Beau, or ????, landed on ????, and then that ended up being Sprinkle? I... well. Okay. I mean, honestly? We could do a lot worse. Sprinkle seems cute.
Anyway, I say all this now because I forgot to get a picture of that sign but here's an island we went to that now doesn't have any potential villagers on it anymore, since the three have now been chosen.

Instead, it's... some players have reported island tours having a chance to whisk them off to what can only be described as Tarantula Island, where there are just zillions of the things everywhere, spawning infinitely, always. (Despite how incredibly NOPE that concept sounds, this is actually a desirable outcome for many players, because tarantulas are worth a lot of money and filling an entire inventory of them is good for like two or three entire home loans.) We still have yet to witness this phenomenon ourselves, but we did end up in the Emperor Butterfly Empire.

Celine: Less valuable per butterfly, but much much easier to catch, and spawned so much that it was a literal infinite supply, and... admittedly less freaky than being surrounded by spiders.
Sara: Unless you're Everyman from Undertale. :3c
Celine: ... *open mouth* *close mouth* ANYWAY so then we went ahead and finished up plot #3, since the villager search is now over and all that's left is the building.

But... wasn't Sprinkle's plot sold like a day before plot 3 was even finished? I... you know what, I have no idea how this game works at this point.

Our new neighbor Homsar wastes no time congratulating us for the recent home upgrade, which also just happened. Beau, sweetie, you literally just got here. You arrived today and you're not even unpacked y... I haven't even seen your house yet. How... how?

Ah, there he is... sweeping a stony dirt floor that will presumably be paved over soon, like the very special boy he is.

What happened to deer in the animal crossing verse.

Was there a mass head injury event.

I mean Bam's excuse is Pashmina. I don't know what happened to Beau.

Yep. All done. Moving in process is 100% complete.

... Wait, how old is Beau..? I mean, I'm assuming he's an adult, right? He took it upon himself to sign up and pay for this island excursion, he moved in independently without having like parents or anything, he's tackling home ownership and the moving process... adult? Yes?

... You know. It's not FF15's food (or Dragon Quest 11's food, for that matter) but that is a really nice hay bale? I dunno, just... that struck me for some reason. It stands out with its photorealistic niceness against its toonier surroundings.

But yes! House upgrade! I, uh. I think this addition might have exposed a sudden problem with our current furniture arrangement.
(Also, thanks to Xyzzy for mailing us that poster of our other idiot deer son.)

Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story... *FWOOSH* The Tale of the Happy Home Academy Pennant.
... Okay that look doesn't really work but it is neat and worth keeping in mind if we get more Halloween-themed furniture, and maybe a basement.

No, I... I really, very much can believe it.

And with that, Plot #1 is finally complete! Nan and Sprinkle should move in soon and goodness only knows who will get here first.
