Yeah, it's ultimately up to the player to make the experience they want. If you're the kind of person who feels validated by beating their head against Getting Over It until they legitimately win the hard way, that's okay! If you're the kind of person who thinks that's bullshit and GameSharks their way through everything just to see the story, that's also okay! It's only really a problem when you get the purists yelling and gatekeeping over whether other people are playing it the "right" way or whatever.
