It took a lot of scouting runs with savestates to get the hang of each individual Nightmare Land sub-stage before I could string together a run of the entire thing.
Like, I want to say at this point that Nightmare Land acts 1 and 3 are pretty doable in one life apiece and getting through 2 is the absolute snout, but that's only because I had a lot of practice. I practiced act 3 separately and learned the endboss's entire pattern down to the "stand in this one spot to almost completely neutralize it" details. If you had to go through the entirety of acts 1 and 2 just to get a chance to learn act 3, that's... crossing the line of a reasonable request a game should ever ask from you, I think. Like yeah, I did it, after all the scouting runs, but....
